"STOLE THE SHOW"
"This lady stole my heart . . . she gave us powerful emotion, gentle love, & simple to-the-point poetry that brought tears to my eyes. . . a varied & well thought through program . . . this set was the highlight of the evening by a mile."
ALBERNI VALLEY TIMES
"A strong vocalist . . . she takes each word, each phrase, & inhabits it . . . loving one moment, scary the next & never does one feel they aren’t hearing the singer’s true self."
Leslie's songs have been compared to work from such artists as Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, Kathleen Edwards & Ray LaMontagne. They have been licensed to television shows DaVinci's Inquest & Roadtrip Nation, as well as the National Film Board of Canada. Artists including Taylor James, Angela Harris, Shane Chisholm, Suzanne Gitzi, Donna Konsorado, Karen Larsen, Kate MacColl, & Lyndia Scott have covered Leslie's songs on their own releases. Three tracks from her records Garden in the Stones and Nobody's Baby received honourable mentions in Billboard's World Song Contest.
"Leslie is one talented lady . . . I was blown away. This level of raw honesty & integrity are so rare that it is disarming. Her voice is as clear as a pure mountain stream & as sultry as a moist Eastern summer night. This little planet we call home is a better place with Leslie making music that "grounds" us all."
